Your Path Starts Here:

Free Introduction to Recovery Information Session

At EPIC Recovery, we believe that healing begins with compassion. We know that navigating the journey of recovery can feel overwhelming, and often, the most basic, crucial information is simply missing from our community. You might be wondering: "Where do I even begin?" or "What are the first practical steps I can take?"

We hear you and we are here to help.

That's why we're incredibly excited to announce a free, in-person, peer-led Introduction to Recovery information session this August at our new EPIC Recovery Centre in London, Ontario!

What is this Session about?

This isn’t about telling you what to do or lecturing you on what you shouldn’t. Instead, this information session is designed to be a supportive, no-pressure space where you can gain some of the foundational knowledge that can truly make a difference. Think of it as a gentle “how-to” overview for anyone exploring a life where drugs and alcohol are no longer needed to cope.

In this introductory session, we touch on topics such as:

  • Understanding the landscape of recovery: Demystifying common terms and concepts.

  • Where to go next: Practical guidance on identifying support services available in the broader community.

  • Taking the first steps: Actionable insights into what early recovery might look like and how to begin moving forward.

  • Dispelling common myths: Gently addressing misconceptions about addiction and recovery.

  • Exploring your options: Learn about local, community-based resources that may be helpful on your path — without pressure or obligation.

And of course, there will be plenty of space for your questions in a welcoming, non-judgmental environment.

Why are we offering this?

Because we believe everyone deserves access to clear, compassionate information. Our entire mandate at EPIC Recovery is centered on creating a life worth living — one where you feel empowered, connected, and fully yourself, without relying on substances to get by.

This session is an extension of that belief. It’s not a treatment service or counselling session. It’s simply an invitation to learn, reflect, and consider your next steps — with zero expectations or commitments.

We also understand that thinking about “recovery” can bring up a lot of emotions, including shame, fear, or uncertainty. That’s why this session is grounded in our core principles of shame reduction and de-escalation. There’s no judgment here — only information, encouragement, and care.

Who is this for?

This information session is designed for individuals in our community who are:

  • Already experiencing some level of sobriety (ideally at least a couple of weeks), and looking for guidance on what comes next.

  • Sober, but feeling stuck or uncertain about how to move forward.

  • Curious about what recovery entails beyond just abstinence.

  • Looking for general knowledge and next steps, without entering into a treatment relationship.

  • Hoping for a non-judgmental space to learn and ask questions.

Please note: This is not a clinical service or counselling session, and attending does not make you a client of EPIC Recovery. It is not suitable for those in active addiction or in need of immediate crisis intervention.

Information Session Details:

  • When: August 9th, 2025.

  • Where: The new EPIC Recovery Centre, 743 Wellington Road, London Ontario

  • Time: 10 AM - 12 PM

  • Cost: Absolutely FREE!
