At EPIC Recovery, we believe healing begins with compassion.
We are a private addiction counselling service grounded in lived experience, focused not only on personalized care, but also on advocacy, community impact, and shame-free recovery. Every story matters here. We meet people where they are, creating a safe space to be seen, heard, and supported without judgment.
We support people across the full spectrum of recovery — from those seeking one-on-one counselling or coaching, to family members looking for clarity and connection, to workplaces and communities striving to better understand and respond to substance use challenges. Whether you are just beginning your healing journey or navigating long-term transformation, EPIC Recovery offers the tools, relationships, and support to help you move forward with confidence.
Over the past five years, we have quadrupled in size. Our growth has never been about scaling for the sake of it. It has been about deepening our impact, expanding access, and helping build a future where addiction care is grounded in empowerment, not shame.
EPIC Recovery is more than a counselling service. We are a movement rooted in compassion, lived experience, and clinical integrity. Founded by Dean Anderson, EPIC began as Anderson Recovery Concepts — a one-person addiction counselling practice with a bold vision. As demand grew and the need for emotionally intelligent, peer-informed care became undeniable, that vision evolved into EPIC Recovery, a thriving private practice supporting individuals, families, and professionals across Ontario for more than a decade.

EPIC Recovery actively partners with University of Western Ontario, Fanshawe College, triOS College, Ivey Business School and other institutions to offer Community Engaged Learning (CEL) placements, deliver in-class education, and participate in student-driven events such as Recovery Addiction Awareness Day (RAAD). We are proud to help shape the academic and practical future of addiction care in Canada.
We also contribute to public education through participation in mental health fairs, addiction awareness campaigns, and training events at institutions such as the Ontario Police College. Since 2020, founder Dean Anderson has hosted a long-running television series on Rogers TV and YouTube, offering real-world conversations on addiction, recovery, and emotional wellness across the country.
our purpose
At our core, EPIC Recovery exists to bridge the emotional and structural gaps in addiction care. We believe people do not need to hit rock bottom to reach out for help. We believe families deserve support alongside their loved ones. We believe emotional intelligence and lived experience are powerful forms of insight — when paired with ethical standards, formal training, and professional accountability.
We are building a community of addiction counsellors for tomorrow — one grounded in truth, empathy, connection, and excellence.
