EPIC Recovery Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: September 13, 2025

Last Updated: July 18, 2026

Welcome to EPIC Recovery. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of epicrecovery.ca (the “Site”) and EPIC Recovery’s general services, programs, digital platforms, online learning content, and materials. By using the website, registering for a service or program, creating an account, or making a purchase, you agree to these Terms.

Additional agreements, informed consent documents, policies, waivers, or purchase terms may apply to specific services or programs. Where service-specific terms conflict with these general Terms, the service-specific terms will apply to that service. All purchases made through the EPIC Store require acceptance of the applicable waiver or purchase terms during checkout.

1. Who We Are

EPIC Recovery is a private addiction counselling and recovery support organization based in London, Ontario, Canada. Our services include individual counselling, family and couples support, workshops, support groups, recovery maintenance, online programming, and professional training opportunities.

We combine evidence-informed care with professional standards, informed by lived-experience leadership.

2. Eligibility

EPIC’s services, programs, groups, and digital platforms are intended for adults who have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction. In Ontario, the age of majority is 18.

By registering for or using EPIC’s services or platforms, you confirm that you meet the applicable age requirement.

3. Use of the Site & Services

3.1 Account Registration

Certain services or courses may require you to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for safeguarding your login information and for all activity that occurs under your account.

3.2 Use Restrictions

You agree not to:

  • use the Site or services for unlawful purposes,

  • infringe the rights of others (intellectual property, privacy, etc.), or

  • interfere with the security, functionality, or integrity of the Site.

3.3 Third-Party Platforms

Some of our educational content is delivered via third-party platforms such as Teachable. Your use of those platforms is also governed by their own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for their policies or practices except as required by law.

4. Fees & Payment

Applicable fees are displayed on the website or communicated before registration or purchase. Payment is required in advance unless EPIC agrees otherwise.

EPIC may change its prices prospectively. A price change will not affect a service, program, or access period that has already been purchased and paid for.

Additional payment, cancellation, and renewal terms may apply to specific services or programs and will be disclosed during registration or purchase.

5. Refunds & Cancellations

Cancellation, rescheduling, withdrawal, and refund terms vary by service, program, event, course, or product. Applicable terms will be communicated during registration or purchase.

Except where otherwise stated or required by law, fees may be non-refundable once a service has been provided, a program or event has begun, or digital content or materials have been accessed.

If EPIC cancels a prepaid service and cannot provide a reasonable rescheduling or replacement option, EPIC will refund the amount paid for the cancelled portion.

Nothing in these Terms limits any cancellation, refund, or other consumer right that cannot lawfully be waived.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including text, graphics, images, course materials, videos, and worksheets — is owned by EPIC Recovery or used under licence, unless otherwise noted.

You may use content for your own personal, non-commercial use only. Reproduction, distribution, or adaptation of content without our prior written consent is prohibited.

7. Feedback & Submissions

EPIC may use feedback, evaluations, and suggestions internally for service, program, and quality improvement.

EPIC will not publicly identify an individual or use their testimonial, image, personal experience, or feedback for promotional purposes without appropriate consent.

Materials submitted to EPIC must not infringe the rights of another person.

8. Privacy & Confidentiality

EPIC handles personal information and personal health information in accordance with applicable Canadian and Ontario privacy law.

Additional privacy and confidentiality terms may apply to counselling, programs, groups, digital platforms, and other services.

Please review the EPIC Recovery Privacy Policy for more information.

9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

General website information, educational resources, courses, workshops, and support groups are provided for informational and educational purposes. They do not replace individualized medical, psychiatric, legal, or other regulated professional advice.

Counselling services are provided within the qualifications and professional scope of the individual practitioner and are subject to separate informed consent.

Participants in group services are expected to respect the privacy and confidentiality of others. However, EPIC cannot guarantee the actions of other participants outside the group.

EPIC is not an emergency or crisis-response service. Information about immediate support is available at epicrecovery.ca/crisis.

EPIC uses reasonable efforts to provide accurate and current information but does not guarantee that website or educational content will be error-free or continuously available.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, EPIC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the website, digital platforms, or general educational content.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer rights or liability arising from gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

10. Suspension or Termination

EPIC may restrict or terminate access to its website, accounts, digital platforms, programs, or materials where these Terms are violated, fees remain unpaid, access is misused, or continued participation may affect safety, privacy, security, or service integrity.

Any suspension or termination of counselling or regulated professional services will also be managed in accordance with applicable professional, ethical, contractual, and legal obligations.

Refunds, if any, will be determined under the applicable service-specific terms and consumer law.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada.

Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Ontario unless applicable law requires otherwise. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory rights available under the laws of the jurisdiction in which an individual resides.

12. Changes to These Terms

EPIC may update these Terms to reflect changes in its services, practices, technology, or legal obligations. Updated Terms will be posted with a revised effective or last-updated date.

Material changes will apply prospectively and may also be communicated through another reasonable method. Terms applicable to a completed purchase will not be changed retroactively except where required by law.
