Recovery Robinhood

What is Recovery Robinhood?

Helping the recovery community to grow is a cornerstone of EPIC’s business model. Yes, we are a for-profit business. However, we also see the barrier to providing services that provincial-funded and not-for-profit organizations face. We see this as a disadvantage to the entire community. When individuals who have the means to pay for quality, and tailored recovery services, we see that as an opportunity to redistribute the wealth by creating free and purposeful recovery services, activities, and events. All are designed to create longevity in recovery, coupled with increased quality of life. We have coined this EPIC mandate as “Recovery Robinhood.”

Here are some of the ways you can help our merry band of friends.

  • Volunteering at EPIC Recovery offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals navigating their recovery journeys. As a volunteer, you play a crucial role in bridging the gap between crisis care and ongoing support, helping to create a stigma-free environment where individuals feel valued and understood. Your involvement can range from facilitating support groups to providing administrative assistance, all tailored to foster community connections and enhance the overall recovery experience. By sharing your time and skills, you contribute to a compassionate network that empowers individuals in their pursuit of healing and resilience.

  • We invite your business to consider several sponsorship opportunities at the EPIC Recovery Centre. These include dedicated rooms that can be branded with your company's name, headlining an event titled "The (Your Business) Recovery Event," and contributing furniture that can be marked as a contribution from your business. Your support can play a vital role in fostering a supportive environment for individuals on their recovery journey.

  • We are not a nonprofit or charitable organization with tax-exempt status; however, the donations we have received in the past always go to the right place. So, if you are not looking for a receipt and simply want to give out of goodwill, we are happy to pass on the funds.

  • The Sober Connection is an essential support network for individuals living substance-free, focusing on community engagement through activities, events, and connections. By participating in The Sober Connection, whether through volunteering, sponsoring an event or game, or contributing to entertainment and services, you play a crucial role in enhancing a supportive environment. Your involvement helps ensure accessible programs and resources that strengthen our community, fostering a stigma-free space where individuals can thrive in their recovery journey.

Our dynamic collaboration is shaping the future of addiction recovery, providing a comprehensive, client-centered approach that empowers individuals to thrive in their healing journey.

In addition to these efforts, EPIC Recovery is proud to have founded The Sober Connection, an initiative that celebrates and supports substance-free living. Every fall, we host The Sober Connection Convention (SoCon) as a free community event that brings together individuals committed to living healthy and balanced, substance-free lives. This event not only celebrates the journey of recovery but also provides a space for individuals to connect, learn, and grow in a supportive environment. We team up with local businesses and individuals to provide substance-free activities to the London community like sober nightclubs, disc golf tournaments, and trail running groups.

We are proud of the diverse team members who represent a wide range of professional associations, including NAADAC, the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association, the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, and the Ontario College of Social Workers.
