Being a parent or family member of someone navigating addiction can feel like walking on eggshells, and it may be difficult to know when support is helping or when it may unintentionally enable. Bridges & Boundaries is a 4-part workshop series designed to provide practical communication strategies, emotional tools, and self-care approaches that can help families regain balance and hope.
Led by Dean Anderson, a lived-experience counsellor with over a decade of guiding families through addiction challenges, the series can help participants:
Learn ways to communicate effectively with loved ones so they may truly hear you
Explore the difference between supporting vs. enabling
Navigate grief, regret for past choices, and the ups and downs of family recovery
Discover self-care strategies to reclaim emotional balance
Sessions are designed to build week by week, giving participants time to try new approaches at home, reflect, and return with insights or questions. Worksheets and handouts are included to continue supporting the learning beyond the series.

BRIDGES & BOUNDARIES
COMMUNICATION AND COPING in Family Addiction
Couples Workshop
Navigating Recovery Together
Recovery doesn’t just affect the individual; it reshapes their relationships. When one partner is working on substance-free living and the other is learning how to support without slipping into codependent patterns, the couple can become what we call a “dissonant duo,” two people deeply connected, but moving at different rhythms. Communication may feel harder, roles can blur, and even strong connections can feel strained.
This 3-part interactive workshop is designed to help couples:
Rebuild trust and deepen connection
Improve communication and set healthy boundaries
Break patterns of enabling, resentment, or miscommunication
Create a shared plan for ongoing recovery and relationship growth
You’ll experience guided exercises, open discussions, and practical tools you can apply immediately. Led by Dean Anderson, who brings over a decade of both professional insight and lived experience, this workshop offers a safe, supportive space to restore balance and grow together.
Participants often describe the experience as thoughtful, engaging, and surprisingly safe, even when discussing difficult topics.
Leave with renewed trust, a deeper understanding of each other, and strategies to support both your relationship and recovery journey.

We’ll explore what holistic recovery looks like, how to build a solid foundation, and where to find resources in the community; all in a non-judgmental, supportive space.
Perfect for those who are already substance-free (even just a few weeks), feeling stuck, or simply curious about what recovery looks like beyond abstinence. It's also an incredibly valuable resource for family members and loved ones who want to better understand the journey and learn how to offer meaningful support. This session is rooted in compassion, shame reduction, and empowerment.

A skills-based workshop for individuals with at least two weeks substance-free or anyone looking to strengthen and refresh their recovery foundations.
Most breakthroughs happen quickly. Research shows the biggest shifts often occur in the first few sessions of therapy. Recovery Foundations condenses that impact into two power-packed group sessions.
Facilitated by Dean Anderson, one of Canada’s most sought-after addiction counsellors, founder of the country’s first Recovery Maintenance Centre, and host of two RogersTV shows. Dean brings over a decade of experience, a compassionate and practical approach, and a touch of humour to every workshop.
Over six hours of immersive learning, you’ll:
Guided exercises and worksheets to identify patterns, set goals, and create actionable steps.
Exclusive access to Recovery Toolbox videos, not yet released to the public, offering tools and insights to support your ongoing journey.
Interactive discussions and peer connection, helping you feel supported and understood.
Practical strategies for sustaining recovery, including coping skills, emotional resilience, and motivation techniques.
A safe, judgment-free environment to explore challenges and reflect on your progress.
