Sitting in Recovery
If addiction can be thought of as a means to escape our perceived reality (our feelings, emotions, and the situations we find ourselves in), then meditation can be thought of as deeply connecting with reality as it actually is. In this way, meditation, as a practice, is an antidote to our perpetual need to escape. By delving into it, we see the world and ourselves as we truly are; and find less and less need to escape it.
Meditation is often used to support stress reduction, nervous system regulation, focus, and emotional awareness, making it a valuable practice for individuals interested in recovery, wellness, or personal development.
Join us as we learn about meditation, how we practice it in our lives, and explore its connection with addiction recovery.
Date: Every Monday
Time: 5 PM - 6 PM
Location: EPIC Recovery Centre – 743 Wellington Road, London, ON. Entrance 2.
