Group Disclaimer

By attending or participating in an EPIC Recovery group, whether offered in person or virtually, you acknowledge and agree that:

  1. Personal Responsibility
You are responsible for your own well-being and for any decisions or actions you take based on information shared in the group. You are encouraged to seek professional medical, psychological, addiction, or crisis support when needed.

  2. Nature of Support Groups
Groups offered by EPIC Recovery are educational and supportive in nature. They are not clinical treatment and are not intended to diagnose, treat, or substitute for medical, psychological, therapeutic, or other professional care. Participation does not create a professional-client or healthcare relationship between you and EPIC Recovery, its staff, volunteers, or facilitators.

  3. Third-Party Facilitators
Some groups may be facilitated by volunteers, guest facilitators, or individuals who are not employed by or acting on behalf of EPIC Recovery. EPIC Recovery does not supervise or endorse the actions, statements, or opinions of group participants or third-party facilitators.

  4. No Guarantees
EPIC Recovery, and its directors, officers, employees, and affiliates make no warranties, promises, or guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or outcomes of information shared in support groups, regardless of format.

  5. Confidentiality
Participants are encouraged to treat personal information shared in groups with respect, and to consider carefully what they choose to share. EPIC Recovery does not guarantee confidentiality among participants and cannot control what others do with what they hear.

  6. Behaviour and Safety
Participants are encouraged to act respectfully and responsibly. Groups work best when participants listen, respect boundaries, and support one another. EPIC Recovery does not control or enforce the actions or behaviour of participants.

  7. Virtual Participation
If participating in a virtual group, you are responsible for your own environment, technology, privacy, and safety. EPIC Recovery does not monitor or certify participant video, audio, or adherence to behavioural expectations in virtual settings.

  8. Public Encounters
If you see another participant outside of group, discretion and mutual respect are encouraged. Such encounters are solely between individuals, and EPIC Recovery is not responsible for or involved in interactions that occur outside of group settings.

  9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, EPIC Recovery and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and affiliates disclaim all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from participation in, or reliance on, information shared in groups.
