General Workshop & Class Waiver, Risk Acknowledgment & Media Consent

Please read this waiver carefully before registering. By checking the box at checkout, you confirm that you understand and agree to the following terms.
1. Program Nature & Disclaimer
EPIC Recovery’s workshops and classes are educational, community-based programs designed to support connection, growth, and well-being in a substance-free environment.
These offerings are not clinical or medical treatment programs and are not intended to replace professional health, addiction, or mental health care. For medical or psychological concerns, please seek guidance from qualified professionals.
2. Participation & Eligibility
You confirm that you are 16 years of age or older, or have obtained written consent from a parent or guardian if under 18.
Participation is voluntary. EPIC Recovery reserves the right to decline or remove any participant to protect the safety and comfort of all attendees.
3. Risk Acknowledgement
You understand that participation in group-based activities carries inherent risks, including but not limited to:
Physical risks: such as light movement, accidental contact, trips, or falls
Emotional risks: such as vulnerability, discomfort, or stress from discussions
Social risks: such as interpersonal dynamics or misunderstandings
By registering, you voluntarily accept full responsibility for your personal safety and well-being during participation.
4. Release of Liability
In consideration for being permitted to participate, you release and hold harmless EPIC Recovery (9345205 Canada Inc.), its directors, staff, volunteers, and affiliates from any liability for injury, loss, or damage arising from your participation, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional harm.
5. Substance-Free Attendance & Safety
You must arrive free from alcohol or drugs, with a blood alcohol content of 0.00%. Learn more: ABCs of BAC.
If you appear intoxicated or under the influence of substances, you may be asked to leave to ensure the safety and comfort of all participants.
For the safety of both the public and the individual, EPIC Recovery may notify local authorities if impaired driving is suspected, in accordance with ethical and legal obligations.
Disruptive, unsafe, or intoxicated behavior may result in removal without refund.
6. Emergency Medical Consent
In the event of a medical emergency during an activity, you authorize EPIC Recovery staff or volunteers to seek medical treatment on your behalf, including transportation to medical facilities if necessary. You accept full responsibility for any costs incurred.
7. Media Release
You grant EPIC Recovery permission to photograph, record, or capture your image and voice during the activity for educational, promotional, or archival purposes, including print and digital media.
You may withdraw media consent at any time by emailing info@epicrecovery.ca; this will not affect materials already produced or distributed.
8. Refund Policy
All purchases for workshops, classes, and events are non-refundable.
9. Accessibility & Accommodations
EPIC Recovery is committed to accessibility. If you require accommodations, please contact info@epicrecovery.ca in advance. Reasonable efforts will be made to support your participation.
10. Legal Jurisdiction
This waiver and all disputes arising from participation shall be governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Legal matters will be handled in courts located in London, Ontario.

By registering for or participating in an EPIC Recovery workshop or class, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to all terms above.
