Improv for Recovery: Laugh. Heal. Connect.
Recovery doesn’t always have to be heavy. Sometimes, healing begins with a laugh.
We’re excited to introduce something truly unique:
Improv Comedy for Recovery: a 6-week workshop designed to help you loosen up, laugh out loud, and strengthen your recovery skills in the most unexpected way.
🗓 Starting August 13
🕡 Every Tuesday, 6:30–8:30 pm
📍 EPIC Recovery – 743 Wellington Rd South location
💲 Cost: $200 + HST

Whether you’re in early recovery or further along your journey, this group offers a supportive, judgement-free space to grow, connect, and rediscover joy. No comedy or improv experience needed — just a willingness to show up, take a chance, and maybe be a little silly.
So... Why Improv in Recovery?
At first glance, improv might seem like a strange fit for addiction recovery, but it’s actually a powerful tool for personal transformation.
Improv teaches the same skills that recovery demands:
· Flexibility
· Presence
· Connection
· Resilience
· Self-compassion
This isn’t about being funny, it’s about building confidence, reducing social anxiety, and learning how to show up authentically in the moment.
Improv in recovery can help you:
Stay present and grounded – let go of control and learn to respond instead of react
Reduce stress and isolation – laughter releases natural feel-good chemicals
Build communication and emotional awareness – express yourself clearly and with confidence
Practice flexibility – when things don’t go to plan, improv helps you roll with it
Feel less alone – improv is collaborative, connected, and encourages support without judgment
Break the shame cycle – here, “messing up” is part of the fun
You’ll walk away with practical tools that support recovery and everyday life. Tools that help you navigate discomfort, build healthy relationships, and reconnect with joy.
