More About Laura…
It was the lived experience of others that led me to find recovery from decades of disordered eating which drew me into this work. I completed a faculty advised Independent Study during my MSW on Eating Disorders that explored treatments beyond traditional approaches and revealing the importance of autonomy, embodiment and healthy relationships in healing. Whether it is disordered eating, or addiction, I have learned that recovering oneself is often challenging and lifelong work. As someone who has lost loved ones to addiction, I am passionate about supporting individuals and families discover who they are beyond the labels, old patterns and roles, in hopes of connecting to their true selves and strengths.
On a lighter more personal note … people often describe me as authentic, a little quirky, with a good sense of humour. I love dogs, winning by accident, a cool breeze and remembering that time is made up.
