Pamela Michienzi is a Registered Art Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a professional member of the Ontario Art Therapy Association. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts with a minor in Psychology, as well as a post-graduate diploma in Art Therapy from the University of Western Ontario. Pamela also holds a Fundamentals in Addiction certification from Fanshawe College.
Pamela has over 20 years of experience working with individuals struggling with mental health and addictions across various settings, including community agencies, school boards, correctional facilities, government services, and private practice. Her extensive background in the addictions field includes more than a decade of front-line work with Choices for Change: Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Counselling Centre (now CMHA Huron-Perth), where she served as a school-based youth addictions counsellor and an in-house addictions counsellor at the former Bluewater Youth Detention Centre.
She was also contracted by CMHA to facilitate and instruct the Back on Track remedial program for convicted impaired drivers in Ontario. Additionally, Pamela worked at ConnexOntario as a relief System Navigator and Referral Specialist, where she developed an in-depth understanding of how government-funded resources and treatment programs are accessed and operated throughout the province.
Pamela’s experience often involves the inclusion of family members in the treatment planning and recovery process of those facing substance use and/or gambling-related challenges. She also offers direct support to individuals and families navigating the impact of a loved one’s addiction.
Known for her warm, empathetic approach, Pamela believes each individual has the potential to overcome life’s challenges and reach their personal, professional, and relational goals. She encourages self-compassion and understanding, and supports a holistic, strengths-based approach to wellness and growth.
