Pamela Michienzi – Registered Psychotherapist and Addiction Care Provider
Pamela Michienzi is a Registered Psychotherapist with more than 20 years of experience in mental health and addiction recovery. Pamela brings a strong background supporting families and individuals affected by substance use or gambling concerns.
Pamela’s work is deeply informed by her lived experience supporting loved ones through addiction and her own journey of healing and growth following a brain injury. These personal experiences give her a unique understanding of the emotional, relational, and practical challenges that individuals and families face when navigating recovery or rebuilding after life-changing circumstances. Her approach is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and hope, helping people recognize their strengths and actively participate in the process of healing.
She provides guidance and practical strategies that help family members and individuals strengthen communication, develop healthy boundaries, and create supportive environments for themselves and their loved ones. Pamela recognizes that recovery is not only about overcoming challenges but also about improving quality of life and connection within the family system.
Her background includes more than a decade of front line work with Choices for Change Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Counselling Centre (now CMHA Huron Perth), where she supported youth and families affected by addiction. She has also worked with community agencies, correctional facilities, school boards, government services, and private practice. In addition, Pamela facilitated Ontario’s Back on Track remedial program for impaired driving convictions and served as a relief System Navigator and Referral Specialist with ConnexOntario, gaining an in-depth understanding of how treatment programs and government funded resources are accessed throughout the province.
She is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a professional member of the Ontario Art Therapy Association. Pamela holds a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts with a minor in Psychology, a post graduate diploma in Art Therapy from the University of Western Ontario, and a Fundamentals in Addiction certificate from Fanshawe College.
Known for her warmth and empathy, Pamela blends professional expertise with lived experience to create a safe, understanding, and empowering space for healing. She believes that every person and every family has the ability to heal, grow, and build stronger, more connected relationships.
