Untangling the Connection: ADHD, Addiction, and Recovery Skills That Stick

$35.00

Living with ADHD can feel like driving with a jammed accelerator especially when addiction becomes part of the story. This engaging, hands on workshop invites participants to explore how ADHD’s unique wiring influences addiction, recovery, and emotional regulation and how self understanding can become a foundation for lasting change.

Date: Thursday, November 27th
Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: 743 Wellington Road, London, Ontario

Facilitator: Robert Simms, RSW, MSW – Embodied Resilience Wellness Clinic

This is not another lecture about what is wrong. It is a supportive, skills based experience designed to help participants move from self blame to self understanding and build routines that work with their brain not against it.

What You Will Learn
· Understand how ADHD and addiction interact through shared dopamine and impulse pathways
· Identify personal patterns in attention, emotion, and reward seeking that can influence recovery
· Practice regulation tools such as the STOP skill and a “60 second reset” for impulsive moments
· Design ADHD friendly “anchors” that support consistency and reduce overwhelm
· Develop a self compassion mindset to replace shame with curiosity and respect
· Take home practical, printable tools to reinforce new skills after the workshop

Why Attend
For those in recovery: Learn why ADHD brains crave stimulation and how to channel that energy in sustainable ways
For those supporting others: Gain insight into the neurobiological overlap between ADHD and addiction and learn simple tools you can integrate into your practice
For everyone: Leave feeling seen, validated, and equipped with tools that you can start using right away
