More about Chris,
Outside of work, Chris is a devoted father to his daughter, Madeline, and enjoys spending time watching scary movies and playing with their dog, Tuna. A curious traveler, he has explored over 25 countries and spent a year living in South Korea — where he learned to read and write the language.
As a Master’s-trained Social Worker, Chris has run homes for individuals with developmental conditions, worked within the justice system, and provided private practice counselling in multiple settings including Daya in London, the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), and King’s University College Student Counselling. He uses a wide range of therapeutic modalities in his sessions, including Rational Emotive Therapy (RET) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), both rooted in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). He also incorporates elements of Narrative Therapy and Logotherapy, while frequently integrating practices drawn from Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Solution-Focused Interviewing (SFI). His mental health specialties include addictions, trauma, a variety of psychiatric concerns, and catastrophic injury. In his most recent role with Biigajiiskaan, the mental health branch of Atlohsa Family Healing Services located in the Finch Family Mental Health Building at Parkwood Hospital, Chris supported individuals experiencing severe and treatment-resistant mental health conditions, including psychosis.
