Fema Jacob – Registered Social Worker and Trauma Therapist

Fema Jacob is a Registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW) specializing in trauma therapy — including acute trauma, childhood trauma, PTSD, and C-PTSD.

Fema works with both single-incident and complex trauma. This may include experiences such as violence, childhood abuse or neglect, difficult family dynamics, attachment and relational wounds, loss, accidents, betrayal, or other overwhelming experiences. She also works with clients who may not identify with the word “trauma” but recognize its effects in their lives through anxiety, panic, anger, shame, emotional dysregulation, relationship difficulties, self-doubt, or patterns of avoidance and disconnection.

Fema also works with addiction and problematic substance use through a trauma-informed lens — recognizing that substance use and other coping behaviours are often connected to unresolved trauma and emotional pain, and helping clients build healthier ways of coping and regulating emotion.

Before private practice, she spent nearly a decade as a Child Protection Worker with CAS London & Middlesex, working with families navigating trauma, addiction, and crisis. Her therapeutic approach draws from EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), inner child work, parts work, CBT, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).

More about Fema,

Outside the therapy room, Fema performs flamenco with Rosa Flamenca, dances salsa, stays active through strength training and swimming, and enjoys walking with her beloved dog. She also runs a community discussion series and has a lifelong fascination with consciousness and the subconscious mind — the same curiosity that shapes her work with clients.

Building a genuine connection with her clients is central to how Fema works. Fema believes people are more than what has happened to them, and helps clients understand themselves more deeply, heal, and build new ways of relating to themselves and others.
